Chains and Fetters

With chains are bound, with fetters and with cuffs

Explosive envy freedom does the soul

And wisp of person ethereal; enough–

The writ of sealing weakened by our toll

.

A dove each day returns from seas of space

With earned ransom scattered by the winds

Delivering the powers sealed away

In reclamation of accountant’s bin

.

But cannot help the throbbing muscle’s bulge:

New skin for newest wine must be prepared

Accumulated power must divulge

In only harder steel than strongest fare

.

A violent rebuke, concussive blast

Launch sparks of broken chains and fetters, cast.
